REVISED: 6 Places to Visit This Fall

With the start of September coming our way, let’s make the most of it. Before you know it, you will be forced to hibernate during the freezing winter. Just thinking about winter makes me chilly. If you are a true Clevelander, and you haven’t been to these places yet, do you live under a rock? Go! Go now before the snow days hit and were stuck inside for day on end.

#1- Luna Bakery. Luna is my favorite early morning breakfast all year round eatery. There are two locations, one at 2482 Fairmount Blvd Cleveland Heights and the other at 34105 Chagrin Blvd Moreland Hills. After a weekend workout of running, doing yoga, spinning, or just thinking fit, Luna is one of the best places to refuel and reward for a job well done. My go-to breakfast option from Luna is the avocado toast with sprinkled feta, but they also have homemade crepes, steel cut oatmeal, and paninis. Say after your breakfast you are wanting some sweets, which is always yummy, then you can try their homemade macaroons, cookies, cakes, or even croissants. If you ever need to work outside of the house because home is a tad crazy, get a bite to eat at Luna, drink some coffee, and sit down to crank out some work or just to take a moment and enjoy the day.

#2- TownHall. TownHall is a bit of a hike for me, so I make the most of it whenever I get to go. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For now, there is only one location in Ohio City, 1909 West 25th St. Cleveland, but they are quickly expanding. If you’ve ever been in there you know that the restaurant is always packed, and the food is always delicious. The go-to meals that I get every time I go there are the sweet potato pancakes for breakfast, and the Thai peanut bowl for lunch or dinner. Everything they serve is a healthy, NON-GMO, spin on great food that is loved by all. TownHall is a place you can go for with your friends for a quick and tasty brunch or a nice dinner in the heart of Ohio City Cleveland.

#3- Lemon Falls. Lemon Falls is the cutest mini market, bakery, and home to the CHNG-best healthy food options- in Chagrin Falls. They are open every day at 8 am and only have one location, which is 95 N Main St, Chagrin Falls, OH. On the menu, there is a wide range of foods, from eggs and avocado toasts, to sandwiches, salads, and soup. They also have the best chocolate chip cookies. You might be thinking, “Charlotte, this all sounds amazing, but my tummy is sensitive to gluten.” Well, Lemon Falls has you covered with many gluten-free baked goods, such as muffins, biscotti, and soups. Lemon Falls is one of my favorite spots for lunch in Chagrin Falls because all of their food is made from fruits and vegetables from the local markets, making their food fresh in addition to delicious. My personal suggestion for you is to get the “Vietnamese Shredded Chicken Salad,” it is a sweet ginger dressing with crunchy greens and fresh chicken on top. This is the perfect balanced salad because you have the crunch of carrots and other veggies, with chicken.

#4- Heartwood Roastery. Heartwood Roastery is my favorite coffee shop on the east side of Cleveland. There are two locations, one is 46 Ravenna Street, Suite D-2, Hudson, OH 44236 and the other 20 N. Main St. Chagrin Falls, OH 44022. Before the one in Chagrin opened, I struggled to find a good, cozy, coffee shops that I could stop by and pick up a quick drink or work at, but when Heartwood opened near me I was so excited to try it. The day after I came home from overnight camp, I went to Heartwood and it was definitely a 5/5. My favorite coffee drink was the Chai Tea Latte, which was so delicious because it tasted like a real chai tea with milk and sweetener. The setup of the whole place was fresh and cozy, and there were good vibes all around, great atmosphere too. I definitely recommend you try it.

#5- Ohio City Provisions. Ohio City Provisions is a fresh food market and local butcher. All of the meat and poultry as you find there is raised on the farm which is open all year long. When you walk inside, it might not look like much but they have the real deal. One thing to do when you go is to ask which meats are best during this time of year because surprisingly, meats are tastier in different seasons. There is one location, which is, 3208 Lorain Avenue Cleveland Ohio 44113. Between the few times, I’ve been there I recommend getting the steaks, the fresh off the farm eggs and the cheeses. All the fruits and vegetables are even farmed within 75 miles of Cleveland. This is the place you want to check out if you want the freshest, healthiest, right off the farm, and delicious food. Other than poultry and fruits and vegetables, they also have a selection of freshly baked breads, granola, and jams.

#6- Geraci’s Restaurant. Geraci’s Restaurant is a delicious pizzeria restaurant, that is always filled with lots of people. It is a restaurant that has been owned by the same family for 50 years and it has more families with children kind of place. You could definitely come with your friends, and I definitely suggest it. This is a pizzeria that has a more old school, homemade, cozy, family style, kind of place. If I’m wanting to eat a very good, not as thin as most pizza is now, homemade pizza then I go to Geraci’s without hesitation. There are currently two locations, one is 2266 Warrensville Center Rd, University Heights, OH 44118, and you can dine in there and take out. While the other is 29425 Chagrin Blvd, Pepper Pike, OH 44122, where you can only dine and they do not take reservations.  They are opening a new one soon near Eton Collections, which is very exciting because it is more near me and I think a lot of people will go there. Try Geraci’s out and let me know how you like it!

After reading this you might be a little overwhelmed. It’s ok, you have a whole two months (September and October) to be visiting all of these amazing places. If you’re coming to Cleveland for a weekend, to visiting a friend, or just have fun, then you know the top places to visit for a good meal. Make sure if you go to one of these places, that you take a picture, and tag the restaurant too.
